ARTISTS STATEMENT I have been making art since I can remember. Basically self-taught, my primary medium is Watercolor. My work is mainly florals, though I paint land & seascapes, mostly representional and occasionally edging on the abstract.

My interest in botanicals started while studying at Hofstra Univ. I found the structures and beauty of the specimens stirred my interest both scientifically and artistically. Though it took some time, I finally rose to the challenge of floral watercolor painting. Enjoying the challenge that the botanical and floral subjects provided me: their special and distinctive beauty; their anatomy and movement as they follow the light to their next pose. Our Mission

It is our commitment to create an environment where professional artists can thrive in their work and their career in the arts, and to establish a place where gallerists, curators, collectors, writers, designers and architects, will find high-quality, fresh and progressive ideas in art. We achieve this by carefully selecting our artists, encouraging their input and supporting their interaction to ensure a better experience while at Juvenal Reis Studios. We continuously create and implement new projects to interact with the greater community of Long Island City through artist talks, workshops, Open Studios, group & solo shows, internships and visiting artist programs.
